Eight-party meet postponed to Sunday morning; NC, UML fail to reach accord
Owing to differences, especially between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, no final verdict could be drawn to start the formation of the interim government which was slated for proclamation today.
According to Maoist leader Dev Gurung, who was also present in the meeting, the meeting has been postponed to 8am Sunday.
Earlier, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala was heard to express his dissatisfaction over CPN-UML's nomination of Sahana Pradhan to lead the party in the interim government. The UML had proposed Pradhan as the leader of its party in the government and had handed her the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Pradhan, a senior UML leader, though being one of the finest servants of the party, has remained politically inactive for the last couple of years.
Sources said, a mismatch in the ministerial hierarchy gave rise to the differences between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML which forced today's meeting to end inconclusively.
Since, it has been agreed that there will not be any post of deputy prime minister, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is seen as the strongest portfolio in the cabinet, next to the post of Prime Minister.
Earlier, it was decided, as per the agreement struck on Friday among the eight parties, that a 26-member interim government under the premiership of Girija Prasad Koirala would be formed today.
As per the agreement, the Nepali Congress will share six seats (including that of the prime minister) in the interim government along with five seats each to the CPN-M and CPN-UML. The NC-D is to be represented in the interim government with three seats whereas one seat each has been allocated to the People's Front Nepal, Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandidevi) and United Left Front.

KATHMANDU, March 16 - Top leaders of the eight parties on Friday met at Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala's Baluwatar residence to discuss the soon-to-be formed interim government.
Leaders have been discussing the structure, draft of the mode of operation of the interim administration, as well as distribution of ministerial portfolios among the political parties since the morning.
Emerging from the meeting, Chairman of the Nepal Workers' and Peasants' Party (NWPP) said the meeting had discussed two proposals related to the selection of the Prime Minister and formation of the council of ministers.
Likewise, today's meeting will also decide whether to allow the elected Prime Minister expand the council of ministers or let the meeting itself decide on the structure of the council in one go.
Meanwhile, Maoist chairman Prachanda has also already exited the talks venue to attend a programme of one of the Maoists' sister organisation – Newa Mukti Morcha.
According to sources, another meeting of the top brass of the eight parties is expected to reach and accord on the code of conduct of interim government administration prepared by today's meeting.
Sources have claimed that if a general consensus is reached by today itself, a formal announcement of formation of an interim government could take place later today or by tomorrow.
Prior to the deliberations today, key leaders of the four large parties -- the Nepali Congress (NC), NC-D, CPM-UML and CPN-M – had held separate internal discussions this morning regarding their participation in the interim administration and their representatives to the same.
Meanwhile, the CPN-UML standing committee has decided that the modus operandi of the interim government, common minimum programme, and code of conduct as prepared by the four-party taskforce must be ratified before anything else.
According to UML leader Bharat Mohan Adhikari, the standing committee had also urged the eight parties to announce formation of interim administration today itself by deciding on the position of the parties in the interim government.
Prior to the eight-party meeting, both Maoist top brass as well as Prime Minister and NC President Girija Prasad Koirala held consultations with their respective central committee members regarding the interim government.
The CPN-M has already named Krishna Bahadur Mahara to head the party in the interim administration as well.
According to leader Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, the NC-D had also held deliberations to decide its representatives in the interim government.( ekantipur.com)

Government will lose legitimacy if CA not held on time, says Nepal
Raising his voice against the government the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal warned that the government will lose legitimacy if the Constituent Assembly (CA) election is not held on stipulated time.
In his interactions with journalists in Ghorahi, Dang, Nepal said, "The country is facing the CA polls. In order to hold the polls by mid-June, interim government should be formed in a week, electoral legislations should be formulated within a week and date for CA polls should be immediately announced."
Nepal also claimed that the UML was ready to declare republic through the parliament if other parties agree.
Even as Nepal claimed that the interim government should be formed within a week, the meeting of eight party leaders could not take place on Saturday as he did not return to Kathmandu. Subsequently, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, too, left for Biratnagar on Saturday.(nepalnews.com)

Bandhs hit the nation, Home Ministry appeals for restraint
The Ministry has appealed all concerned to avoid holding programs that could affect peace, harmony and public life.
The public appeal was made after a number of organisations held bandh in various parts of the country. In the past one week, organisations like Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha, Chure-Bhawar Unity Society, Tharu Kalyankari Sabha and Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NFIN) imposed bandh in Terai and hilly districts.
The Ministry's appeal has come on the eve of chakkajam (traffic blockade) and customs blockade announced by the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF). The forum had refused to sit for talks with the government saying they first want the Home Minister to resign. They have already announced that they will go for chakkajam and customs blockade from February 26 till March 5 in Terai region.
Meanwhile, the NFIN has decided to sit for talks with the government team on Monday afternoon. nepalnews.com sd Feb 26 07

Freelancing Oppertunities...
If you are a talented and resourceful individual in certain ways and can manipulate computers, the internet and do so in writing occasionally. I seriously suggest freelancing. I have been a freelance writer, blogger, wrote articles for consumers and businesses, business promotion and produts, translation articles since I speak several languages, and have also performed some SEO tasks as well.
Given that there are many sites out there to obtain freelancing jobs. Craigslist is a good site, but going through all of the cities, countries, etc just to hunt down and get maybe a few listings seems pointless. But there are websites out there that maintain updated listings from craigslist for freelancing. If you want to know where you can find them, just leave a comment and I will post a few sites. Craigslist and many of the other sites have postings for many freelance, independent contractor opportunities.
A website that I have spent alot of time on lately is Get a Freelancer. The site, when you first arrive looks a little messy. But the great thing is people do leave feedback for the contracted bosses and you get feedback as well. You will see if the person lives up to their word. I recommend you not deliver/send your entire completed package until payment is rendered. There is the reality that you can get cheated and also that they can too. Theres a risk in everything unfortunately. But Check the site out. There are opportunities to freelance in data processing, project management, virtual assisting, java, website promotion, seo, data entry, link building, translation, logo creation, cold fusion, delphi, graphic design, photography, training, script installation, PHP, wireless, telemarketing, and the list goes on. And also, its free. But you only get so many bids within a 30-45 day time period.

The etymology of "business" refers to the state of being busy, in the context of the individual as well as the community or society. In other words, to be busy is to be doing commercially viable and profitable work.
The term "business" has at least three usages, depending on the scope — the general usage (above), the singular usage to refer to a particular company or corporation, and the generalized usage to refer to a particular market sector, such as "the record business," "the computer business," or "the business community" -- the community of suppliers of goods and services.
The singular "business" can be a legally-recognized entity within an economically free society, wherein individuals organize based on expertise and skills to bring about social and technological advancement.
In predominantly capitalist economies, businesses are typically formed to earn profit and grow the personal wealth of their owners. Notable exceptions to this rule include many cooperatives, non-profit organizations, and government institutions.
In other words, the owners and operators of a business have as one of their main objectives the receipt or generation of a financial return in exchange for their work — that is, the expense of time, energy, and money.
However, the exact definition of business is disputable as is business philosophy; for example, most Marxists use "means of production" as a rough synonym for "business." Socialists advocate either government, public, or worker ownership of most sizable businesses. Some advocate a mixed economy of private and state-owned enterprises. Others advocate a capitalist economy where all, or nearly all, enterprises are privately owned.

Types of businesses
There are four main types of business unit:
Sole Proprietorship: a business owned by one person. The owner may operate on their own or may employ others. The owner of the business has total and unlimited personal liability of the debts incurred by the business.

Private Limited Company (Ltd): a small to medium sized business that is often run by the family or the small group who own it. The owners and managers are only liable for the business up to the amount they have invested in the company, and are not liable for the debts incurred by the company unless they have signed a personal guarantee.
Public Limited Company: a business with limited liability, a wide spread of shareholders and in the UK, a share capital of over £50,000. The owners and managers are only liable for the business up to the amount they have invested in the company, and are not liable for the debts incurred by the company (unless they have signed a personal guarantee, which usually is not the case for a large corporation).
